Consortium meets in Ljubljana for the kick-off

All 13 partners align on governance, the assessment methodology and the first-year plan for the 11 pilot hospitals.

The full ShieldHealthAdria consortium met in Ljubljana on 16 June 2026 for the project kick-off, hosted by coordinator Telekom Slovenije. Representatives of all 13 partners — the two cybersecurity providers and the 11 pilot hospitals from Slovenia and Croatia — spent the day aligning on how the project will run and what it must deliver in its first year.

On the table

The meeting confirmed the project's governance set-up: the roles of the Project Coordinator, Technical Manager and Steering Committee, the quality-assurance and ethics oversight process, and the risk-management approach that will follow the project throughout its 24 months.

Partners also walked through the baseline assessment methodology that Work Package 2 will apply across all pilot hospitals — covering cybersecurity maturity, technical vulnerabilities, staff practices and regulatory compliance — and agreed the sequencing of the first deployment activities.

Next steps

Baseline assessments across the pilot hospitals are the next major activity, feeding the requirements and maturity model on which technology selection and hospital-specific pilot blueprints will be built.
